Just an Indian I am.

Is the feeling of the decade,

Corruption,

Is the fad of the day.

Crore,

Is the anna of the new millennium,

Scam,

Is the success mantra of the modern.

Beer,

Is purer than the water of the Ganges,

Potato,

Is the Indian name for cheese cake.

Autocracy,

In India is called democracy,

Hope,

Is the Indian judiciary?

Cricket,

The bold mistress thrives,

Hockey,

The silent wife just survives.

Buddha,

Wasn’t he the brother of Mayawati?

Rajnikant,

Is the chairman of the Joke Society.

Honour,

Now stands for domesticide,

Inflation,

Will soon be the synonym for suicide.

Spineless,

We have become,

Middle-ageds,

It’s time to wake up.

Youth,

Will be our torch bearers,

Senior citizens,

Are our cheer leaders.

India,

Here we come dear,

15^th August,

Our flag will forever flutter.
