Fire

The Hindu culture is replete,
With fire and its infinite meanings;

Out of fire, children are created,
By walking through it, chastity tested;

All auspicious events, have lighted lamps,
As fire can ward off, the evilest elements;

Yet the fire god can be easily pleased,
By reciting his wife's name in his offerings;

The Hindu culture is quite incomplete,
Without fire and its divine burnings.
